Quotable Sunday - Appreciation

Toni, from A Daily Dose of Toni has this great weekly ritual of posting Favorite Quotes - the quotes that people come up with are very inspiring, so if you haven't had a chance to check out Quotable Sunday, now's your chance! ;)

This week I have chosen quotes about 'Appreciation'... I have been so bogged down by a number of things it's severely interrupted my blog-hopping time so I've been fairly scarce. I just want to say I appreciate each and every one of you that make time to stop my my little corner of the world here and leave comments - you always make my day and hopefully things will settle down so I can reciprocate in kind! And now, without further ado, here are the quotes for this week:

"A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success." Anonymous

"Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well."
Voltaire

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
Albert Schweitzer

"Correction does much, but encouragement does more. Encouragement after censure is as the sun after a shower."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others."
Cicero

"Courtesies of a small and trivial character are the ones which strike deepest in the gratefully and appreciating heart."
Henry Clay

"Encouraged people achieve the best; dominated people achieve second best; neglected people achieve the least."
Anonymous

"Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I may not forget you."
William Arthur

I really like that first one. It's so true. Everyone is there for you in happy times, but the rare few are there for you in your time of need.

Truly a small gesture that means so much. Everyone is so busy, myself included. Today I'll slow down a little and express my gratitude even if it's in a little way.

Hey- I'm appreciating....

Thanks for stopping by and reading that long meme I did. Actually, I was writing the post while watching a very exciting Cubs/Cards game which the Cubs pulled out in extra innings.

Have you noticed there's a lot of Stacy's out there? I'm getting so confused. :) And, Yes, I'll be doing the gardening thing throughout the summer so show us your stuff.

We love your little corner of bloggyness so don't you worry! These quotes remind me that I have not been approaching my monkeys in the most positive way so THANK YOU for that because I've been a screaming machine this week and I'm pretty sure it isn't working for me! LOL
