Friday Fragment Freewrite Fitness - Nagging Messes, Doctors and Fun

I really hope Blogger and Google and whomever else that keep messing things up fixes those things soon...it's been quite challenging trying to get around to different blogs this week to read and comment. The list of blogs on my dashboard disappeared, then when they came back comments weren't able to be left, then after that was fixed, Google was blocking blogs with an error message encouraging you to 'try back in 30 seconds'. So my visits around the blogosphere have been spottier than usual...but I'll be by - when you least expect it! ;)

******************************

How is it that one can spend hours cleaning and organizing, only to have someone who looks this innocent cause what looks like a tornado went through the room in less than 5 minutes?
It's almost as if she has a special radar - when she's upstairs playing, I'm surreptitiously cleaning and organizing the mess she made with her toys in the living room. Hauling some of the toys upstairs to her room so there's less clutter on the main floor. Not 5 minutes later, she'll come downstairs, her arms laden with different toys and stuffed animals, happily proclaiming "Look what I found in my room!" and proceed to scatter more toys and 'stuff' all over the living room. A never-ending cycle.
******************************
I'm counting down the days...only 12 days until school starts. Then the house will stay clean for more than 5 minutes, and I'll not get interrupted every 5 minutes. Though I bet it won't be long after she starts that I'll miss those interruptions during the day. Although we'll be adding a new element to the 'interruptions' - only 2 days until we pick up the new puppy. Next week you'll get to see pictures and find out what we've decided on a name. It's pretty cool if I do say so myself. ;)

******************************
I had my annual physical yesterday...aren't you jealous of all my fun? ;) My doctor is a bit concerned on the looks of some of the beauty marks that showed up on my back and belly when I was pregnant...so she's referred me to a dermatologist to make sure there's nothing to them. So that will be another fun appointment on the 26th. Tomorrow I get to experience PBS - Pancake Boob Syndrome with my second ever mammogram. See? I'm having all the fun! My mom discovered a lump in her breast years ago that turned out to be nothing, so at least there's no worry there for me, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

******************************
At least the visit to the doctor revealed one great thing - down another 5 pounds. So attempting to be conscientious with the Wii Fit and eating healthier is really doing the trick. Although this week has been rife with running around and entertaining the Princess Nagger and going to various appointments, so I haven't had a chance to actually use the Wii Fit this week, but I'll be sure to add the extra activity the next time I'm on it - that way the annoying Wii Fit trainer will be forgiving of me avoiding it this week. ;)

When Julie isn't getting beaned in the head trying to be Super Woman, she's trying out cool new games. She's the pusher of my addiction to try new work-out-ish type games. She's now touting the fun of Wii Sports Resort - and of course it sounds like it's right up my ally. So I think I'll be asking hubby to get it for me as a belated anniversary gift. ;)

******************************

Princess Nagger Conversation of the Week:

Princess Nagger: "You want to play paper dolls with me, Mama?"

Me: "Sure...let me finish reading this one blog post and leave a comment, and I'm all yours."

PN: "But I want to play nowwwwww!"

Me: "5 minutes...it'll only take me 5 minutes..."

PN: "How many seconds is that?"

Me: "Uh, 300 seconds, I think..."

PN: "OK, fine.... One...Two...Three..."

Me: "What are you doing?"

PN: "I'm going to count to 300 and then you'll be ready to play paper dolls with me..."

Me: "It's hard for me to read when you're counting out loud - why don't you count it in your head?"

PN: "But I'd rather count it out loud so I don't lose my place."

Me: "You won't lose your place counting in your head...I don't think...besides, if you're counting out loud you'll be too distracting and it'll take me longer than 5 minutes."

PN: "Well, OK, but hurry up - I want to play paper dolls!"

Me: "OK, I'll hurry - why don't you go get the paper dolls all ready?"

PN: "That's a great idea. You know, they really should call them 'cardboard dolls'."

Me: "Why?"

PN: "Because they're not really made out of paper, they're made out of cardboard."

Me (giggling): "You do have a point...they might call them paper dolls because their clothes are usually made out of paper with tabs to change their outfits."

PN: "But these already have their clothes on...see? They don't have any other clothes to put on them, and they're made out of cardboard. So they really should be called 'cardboard dolls'."

The 'paper dolls' she's refering to are the new Happy Meal toys they just started this week of the American Girl series. A tiny book with a story, sticker activity, and tiny paper dolls - ahem - cardboard dolls fully clothed.

1) Congrats on the 5 lbs
2) I am having trouble leaving comments on only 1 blog, and it is frustrating!
3) Wii Sports Resort looks cool. I'm thinking we need a Wii fit - seems all the retirement homes are using them.. maybe my mom would like it (good excuse to spend the $$$)!
4) You are in so much trouble... PN is soo much like Tara. I told my mom to "shoot me now" last night, I was beyond frustrated.
5) I can't wait to hear the new puppy name.
6) I think that is it.. have a good Friday!

No way! I do not for one moment believe that sweet little face caused any mess or destruction. HA! I have one just like her....love that conversation, too. What a smart kid!
Congrats on the 5 lb. loss, woohoo!

blueviolet said...

When you mentioned her comment about finding things in her room and distributing them in another part of the house, I just had to laugh because I remember that so clearly!

Her long hair always makes me think she's older than she is. I can't believe she's just six.

I can NOT concentrate if someone is talking to me either.

Enjoy the boob smashing or at the very least the pretty nipple sticker you get to wear!

otin said...

HaHa! Next time, just put down the blog and play paper dolls! I hope your skin marks are nothing, they probably will be harmless!

Casey said...

Yay on the 5lbs. I experienced that funky thing one day last week, I couldn't comment on any blogspot blogs. Grrr.

I didn't think kids still had paper dolls anymore, cool!

Sorry about your pancake boob. I'm anti-boob pain, if you can't tell.

Congrats on the weight loss...keep up the good work.

Argh: mamo's; reminds me, I am overdue for one.

PLEASE keep me posted on the dermatology visit (very scary to me)

Puppy...with a cool name. You are so lucky, you get puppy breath!

Princess Nagger is quite wise for her years.

Tami said...

Good look with the pancake boobs.
I have to get mine done soon!
I'm not looking forward to it.
My grandmother died from breast cancer (fathers side) and my aunt (mothers side) just passed 2 years ago from breast cancer.

I'm dreading it!

I'm counting the days down until school starts too! YAAAAAAAAY. I mark them off day by day..

sheila said...

Oh gosh, what a funny post! lol
Reminds me I'm overdue for my physical/pancake test (lol)

And I was SO wondering what was going on this week with comments! I can see in my stats I've had hundreds of visits but hardly any comments! Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm so excited that you're getting a puppy!! I can't wait to see the pics ... and gosh you're brave! A new puppy AND Princess N? I think somebody's going to have their hands full :P

I'm sure the dermatology thing and mammogram will be fine ... but I'll be sending you positive thoughts and best wishes regardless, they're routine but still a bit scary.

Have a lovely weekend! :)

Congratulations losing the 5 pounds! Nice.

I have had the same problems with blogger. It also gave me a hard time posting comments which was the most annoying to write out a decent comment to be denied and the comment gone.

Stephanie Faris said...

Pancake Boob Syndrome??? I love it!

I think the Blogger problems are still related to the hackers but I can't be sure about that. They're being shady about it...

kyooty said...

I was ahving very similar problems with my blogger this week. I couldn't get to your blog until the evening, I was Very bummed! and I GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRed a lot and the boys suffered because mom was cranky blogger.

I love how you put all your friday's in 1 post. Great job on the work outs, and your 5lb loss. it's all about getting healthier. good luck with the derm.

paper dolls. I did some cut out max and ruby with AJ when he was home with me and TJ was in school in K, he loved it. paper! I remember when paper dolls came with just undies on. Even max and ruby had clothes on.Did you know that Barbi was inspired by paperdolls? I read that somewhere.
ok I'm done rambling now. :) Happy Friday!

Justine said...

Ugh. Play paper dolls? And you said yes? EEKS! It's times like those that I'm glad I've got two, 'cause I've never been asked to play with the boring stuff! LOL

Ewwwww... have fun getting your boobs squished. And having your entire body gone over with a fine tooth comb by the dermatologist. Blechhhhhhh!

Don't EVEN get me started on the messes!!!

Justine :o )

I just love your fragments - they are always so entertaining! Of course I love the conversation of the week - she is a smart little cookie!

I was frustrated with blogger too - what a pita! I really hated not being able to comment on other blogs. It looks like it is fixed (for now). Fingers crossed.

Oh boob squishing - how fun! I love those appointments - NOT!

And the clean house? I hear ya there. I wrote something almost similar in my Friday's Freewrites/fragments!

Have a good weekend. Oh, I'm not counting the days til school starts either...nope!

They still make paper dolls?!?!

When I was a kid my aunt worked at a bookstore, and she used to give us paper doll books for Christmas each year. HOWEVER, the illustrations in these books were so gorgeous I couldn't bear to cut them up!

My annual physical was canceled by the doctor's office. My primary care physician is pregnant and is now on total bed rest. I hope she's going to be OK.

By the way, I downloaded Firefox because of you. I love it soooo much more than IE. There is absolutely NO comparison.

She is a beautiful child! God didn't give me any girl children(two boys!) for a reason..I would have been the most protective dad of a girl, the poor kid never would have found a husband...

great conversation with princess nagger. my conversations with the little guy consist of me asking him questions and him folding his arms across his chest and screaming NO! at the top of his lungs.

i guess we've entered the terrible 2s a bit early

Firefly@www.firefly-shop.org said...

My Princess does the same thing...love the conversation with PN LOL awesome job on weight loss!I hate going to the doctors :(

Medora said...

I need to get to the doctors but make every excuse not to . . . I can't stand getting weighed. I won't eat for a week afterwards, which starts all kinds of trouble for me.

My B can destroy a room in seconds, just like the show - Barbies, Littlest Pet Shops, Legos, stuffed animals . . . I love coming home and not finding the floor in the bedroom (which we share). Sometimes I make her pick everything up before bed and other times, I just say, what the heck, who cares, then I step on something evil in the middle of the night on the way to the bathroom.

carma said...

my son has been away this week, and without juggling props strewn across the floor - vacuuming was so much easier!! I give it 5 minutes - tops before the room looks like an obstacle course when he returns...

Well, you've had a fun week of dr apts. and boob squishing...

Have a great weekend!

5 pounds is a lot! Yay for you!

I go in two weeks for my own mammo. Golly, they're terrible.

Raven said...

I am so counting down the days with you! I need my house back, and I need it to stay clean for more than 5 minutes. My girls are teens now, but they still haven't learned to pick up after themselves. We spent 12 hours one day cleaning and within 24 hours it was a disaster again!

Good luck with the mammogram and the dermatologist.

Jenners said...

Wow! The dermatologist and a mammogram ... you are sooooo lucky!

And I so relate to the mess thing. As soon as I get the floor so you can see the carpet, a bunch of new toys make their debut. I've just about given up.

And I cannot WAIT until school starts. I'm not used to having him around ALL DAY EVERY DAY and it is wearing thin!!! : )

JulieChats said...

I have a tornado just like that! In fact I'm sitting in the middle of a huge pile of toys right now.

Happy VGNO! And have a great weekend!

I always have Blogger probs! hate it. My posts have no spaces between paragraphs. Happy VGNO and good luck at the doctor! biting down on your lip helps during the pancake procedure!

Martha in PA said...

Happy VGNO (again)! Nope we went to the Franklin Institue, and walked a few blocks to Suburban Station and back (in search of ..wait for it, a WEBKINZ, but they didn't have any that she wanted/didn't have. I was cool with the walk, lots of great cityscape pics! Next visit is the Art Museum. I got a family pass for the FI, so now when we go it is already paid for!

Aww thanks, hopefully I will be able to be around more now, been missing you too! I hope you are having a great VGNO!

I love the things little kids say. Sometimes they are much wiser than we think.

Woohoo on the 5 pounds!

Glady you got your mammies grammed. VERY IMPORTANT BUSINESS that is.

Mrs4444 said...

Good job on taking charge of your health (Who knows how much longer we'll be able to. JUST KIDDING) I hate mammograms, but I know they are a necessary evil. I just need to find the place that has a tech whose not a sadist.

I've heard about that Blogger issue today but thankfully haven't run into it (though someone did say they couldn't comment on my blog). So annoying!

"Look what I found in my room!" Priceless. She's full of life, isn't she? And what a cutie...
