Silly Saturday - Funny Christmas Decor - and a Cool Christmas Light Show

This is the funniest Christmas decoration I've ever seen.  Looks real, doesn't it?  Here's the story from the person who had this up explaining:
"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas  decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories. But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."
Very creative!  It would be freaky to see something like that.

In other news, a Redneck Santa Sleigh:

So wrong in so many levels!  But funny!

here's a video that has some pretty incredible Christmas lights:

Amazing Grace Techno - Computer Controlled Christmas Lights from Richard Holdman on Vimeo.

This Christmas display uses 176 channels and 45,000 lights.  The show is so popular that it requires a crew of 3 people to manage the traffic.

I don't know if I would want to be their neighbor, though.

wow. that light show is amazing...and the redneck santa gave me a chuckle...i got the first one by email...its hillarious. there is actually an art museum nearby that had a real looking person sitting on the edge of their roof...and had to take it down as well.

I'd seen the photo of the guy holding on to the roof edge, but I hadn't heard the back story on it, nor that it wasn't real. I wondered why in the world someone took the time to snap the photo and not help the man! I'm gullible. :)

Stacy, the cops were right. For a minute I thought it was your husband! Afraid he was gonna get a terrible back injury.

I saw that first one this week and I thought it was completely fabulous! I can totally see where it would be a problem though!

Love the light show, but I don't think I would want to be a neighbor either!
The hanging guy totally got me, I though "oh no, how is he going to get down!!"

Light show is pretty amazing. Even more though, I appreciate the people who chose the hanging guy decoration. Why can't we have neighbors like that? We have neighbors on one side that have had the same broke down xmas lights schlung on their shanty house since we moved here 6 years ago. They have NEVER taken them down. It is possible I hate them for that as only a symbol for how much they suck. Bah humbug. great post.

I think this is too funny. I first seen this in the middle of the night last night when I couldn't sleep and at first I thought it was for real...lol. That redneck Santa is something we would see around here. :) I had to wait until this morning to play the lights video...very cool. My little people loved it!

That first one is sure making the rounds. Positvely brilliant!
Santa's sleigh, so wrong it's right, haha.
The light show really puts me in an excited Christmas mood. Or maybe just agitated. I imagine their music & lights could send a few people into fits.
Happy Holidays!
Cool post. xo d

I actually have to say I wouldn't let my husband put the lights up on the high part of our roof this year. It took years off my life watching him last year.

love it. I had a planter that was the size of a childs body with no head because thats where the plant went and people almost got into accidents looking at it. and one guy stopped and asked if i could put it in the backyard because it creeped him out.

Awesome. LOVE the back stories on the first one.

There's a light and music show like the third one close to where we used to live. I would NOT like to be their neighbor, but my kids sure love to visit every year!

Yes, I saw that post by Daffy. I can't believe people actually think it's real.

I agree. I sure wouldn't want to be their neighbor, but it is a great display.

amazing light show. I'm curious how they do that. Seems way too technical for me. Not to mention way too much work. Would be fun tho :)

OMG, I thought the guy hanging was real!

Oh my goodness - that is a very realistic looking person hanging from their roof! I can see why it's causing problems. However, it's nice to know that there are still people out there who care and would come to the rescue should something like that actually happen! :)

I saw the first photo on another blog and thought it is real. What a relief to hear that it was just a decoration. Very creative indeed! But too bad it looked so real that it caused more troubles than fun. :)

That decoration is awesome. The stories crack me up too.

As a card carrying redneck I would like to say that I would love to have that Santa sleigh. I would drive it all over town.
