We Now Return To Our Regularly Scheduled Program

The New Year has begun - and the return today of Princess Nagger back to school and Hovering Hubby back to work.  Of course I'm writing this Sunday evening to post at midnight, and we're possibly going to get snow overnight.  If we do it won't be much, which would mean a possible 2-hour delay for the Princess Nagger, if that.

I have to say that I am looking forward to the peace and quiet and solitude that will reign upon the departure of Princess Nagger on the bus, followed an hour or two later by Hovering Hubby's departure for work.

Most likely you'll hear an audible sigh of relief emanating from my location, the only sound that will be breaking the peace and quiet.  Unless the dogs bark.

I love the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and having PN and HH around for days on end, but I certainly won't miss being interrupted every 5 minutes or so when I'm trying to get something done, or trying to formulate cohesive words to place upon my blog.  Or, as in the case of the past week, trying to figure out how to get my new digs all set up over here to eliminate the hollow sound of an echo in the blogosphere from broken feeds and non-existent reader links.

A work in progress, just like me.

I had planned this weekend at the very least to take down the Christmas decorations on the front porch, but Mother Nature intervened with gusting winds and extremely cold temperatures.  So our house will be amongst those that will display our lighted decor for a bit longer.  Hopefully not into Spring.

So my actual plans for the day?  Relish in the stillness of the quiet, catch up on the blog reading/commenting I'm sorely behind on, and quite possibly do something so out of character for me by taking a nap.  Yeah, I don't buy that last one, either.

I will, however, be looking forward to when the bus comes back around the corner to deposit an exuberant and chatty Princess Nagger as she fills me in on how her first day back at school was.  I'll get the play-by-play description of how she amazed her fellow classmates with her realistic looking inflatable Pteranodon she's taking in for Show-and-Tell, and hear all about how fun everyone's Christmas break was.

And that, my friends, is the very moment we'll be back to our Regularly Scheduled Program.

Even though are regular schedule is somewhat different, it will be nice to get back to "normal". I am hoping a call about the job, will change our normal! The holidays are over, so I'm hoping the two people who need to talk will actually be in the store at the same time today!

I had planned to take down the inside decorations yesterday, but I was unable to break into our storage locker, the lock was frozen! I will go armed with something to try and thaw it today!

I hope you have a peaceful day!

I know what you mean... I spent the 24th thru the 3rd with my family. After 35 years on the road in sales, you get used to long periods of solitude- you later need them!

Ok Stace, the nap is a must. I know you can do it if you put your mind to it. (This coming from a girl who once took a 22 hour nap!!)

I was able to take the ornaments off the tree and all the christmas decor around the house but my tree is still standing up in my living room. Why you ask? Because that's my husband's job. I'm hoping it will get done by june of this year!

I feel EXACTLY the same about the return to school ... it was bliss today! I feel almost guilty how excited I was to have the house to myself again.

yes, there is something to be said for returning to regularly scheduled programming. On top of that, after VC left to catch the bus, I headed back to bed - for an additional 2-1/2 hours - oh yeaaaaaaah :D

I finally got back to mine today too and it was joyous. I sat on the couch and tried to catch up with my reader until it was time to pick the kids up. Three hours goes by FAST.
